Ola Mae Roberts was born on April 23, 1938, in Jacksonville Florida to the late Paul and Ola Mae Lomax. She attended local schools and was employed by St. Vincent’s Medical Center for over 35 years in the dietary department before retiring.
Ola Mae accepted Jesus as Lord of her life at an early age and was a faithful and dutiful member of Union Progressive Missionary Baptist Church serving as an usher and member of the culinary ministry. She loved her family, church friends and her community.
On October 2, 2023, Ola Mae made her transition from labor to reward.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Lucious Roberts.
She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Johnetta Roberts, and Jack Roberts; grandchildren, Namore Richardson, Xavier Neal, Ahamad Neal, Kareem Jones, Shalonda Holloman, Jacquelyn Stacy, Shateria Lowman, Kenya Holmes; great-grandchildren, Nylah Richardson, Amari Richardson; sister, Ruth (Chris) Capers; brother, Robert Lomax; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many sorrowing friends including her best friend, David Woodard.
