Shonda Shontell Smith

Shonda Shontel Smith, 34 of Jacksonville, Florida, was unexpectedly called home by our lord and savior on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, she would have turned 35 on May 12, 2018.

Shonda was born in Jacksonville, FL on May 12, 1983, to Golden Chappell (Williams) and Acia (Big Larry) Smith Sr.

 She was a graduate of Andrew Jackson Senior High School. She later married and divorced Tomorris Calvy Sr, but they remained close friend.

Shonda worked for UPS for over 10 years and was loved on the job by everyone that knew her.  She will be remembered most for her love of life and her beautiful smile.

Shonda loved her family and was very proud of her children, Sania Smith (daughter) and Tomorris Calvy Jr (son).  In addition to her children, Shonda is survived by her parents: Golden William (mother), Gregory Williams (Step father) and Acia Smith Sr. (father); her paternal grandmother, Eloise Smith-Chappell; Siblings: Acia Smith Jr., Larry Smith and step sister, Kuturah Manuel; Uncles: Henry Chappell, Karry Chappell (Veronica), Leon Chappell Sr., John W. Chappell and Jimmie Chappell; Aunts: Flora Croxton and Rosetta Duehart (Nathaniel); and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Henry Mose and Winnie Mae Chappell and her paternal grandfather Acie Smith; Uncles, Cornealous Chappell and John H. Chappell; Aunt: Minnie Washington.

Shonda's children were the pride and joy of her life. The legacy of Shonda's kind spirit, passion for music, fashion, beauty and zest for life will live on through them. 

Shonda will continue to be adored and loved by all who knew her.
