Ms. Vernice F. Nelson-Cohen was born April 2, 1974 in Jacksonville, Florida to Philemon Nelson and Cynthia Nelson. She attended Duval County Public Schools and graduated from Paxon Sr High School Class of 1993. She was employed by the University of Florida Jacksonville Physicians, Inc. Business Group 7, Team Lead-Emergency Medicine.
She was well known in her community for her membership in the Sin City (Lady Aces) Motorcycle Club and was affectionately known as “Major Trouble”. Vernice also loved to cook and cater events.
She preceded in death by her father, Philemon Nelson.
She is survived by her Mother: Cynthia Nelson, two sons: Antonio McKenzy (Anthony), John A. Gibson, III (John, Jr.), two sisters: Christine Palmer (Anthony), Fertrice Watson (Tony), and her niece Brittanie Mack, the daughter she never had. Aunts: Altamese Hardaway, Perlinda Wright (Bernard), Pamela Hicks. Uncle: David Lee Duncan. Maternal Nephews: Charles Duncan, Raheen Duncan, Trey Campbell, William Watson, Stephen Watson, Trayvon Watson. And a host of cousins, other nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews.
