Gladys Pearl Rainey-Williams

Ms. Gladys Rainey-Williams was born August 12, 1938 in Lakeland, GA to Arthur and Pearl Williams. She was married to the Late Roosevelt Rainey. She was employed by St. Catherine Labourer Manor for 25+ years. St. Catherine’s was not only her place of employment it was her ministry. It was a community where she dedicated selfless acts of service by sharing words of encouragement through her poems and inspirational songs. She was elected Employee of the Year for four consecutive years.

Gladys inspired the community she worked and lived in expecting nothing in return. She was well respected and loved by staff, residents, peers, family and friends. To many she was mama. Gladys loved, laughed, and lived her life to the fullest and she will be greatly missed by many.

Greeted in heaven by her husband, Roosevelt Rainey and her daughter, Master Sargent Betty Kelly.

She is survived by daughter, Minister Jean (David) Rivera; sons, Charles (Pamela) Rainey, Sr. and Patrick (Late Katrina) Rainey, Sr.; nephew,  Raymond (Abby) Dozier; niece, Michelle Calhoun; granddaughters, Terry Kelly-Vinnett, Kenya Connor, Charlene Buggest and Zinna Ford; grandsons, Brent Connor, Minister Charles Rainey, Jr., Patrick Rainey Jr., Demetrius Rainey and Jermaine Rainey; great grandsons, Alvin Gathers, Jaymes Mobley and Tajh Vinnett; great granddaughters, Aaliyah Connor and  Mariah Connor; great great grandsons, Daryl Gathers, Alvin Gathers, Jr. and King Gathers; great great granddaughters, Alaina Rainey and the Late Al’manii Gathers; devoted in-law, Laurie Connor and a host of loving family members and friends.
