Walter Harris Finn, 74 of Jacksonville, Florida, was called to his final resting place on April 12, 2022. Walter Harris “Mickey” Finn was born November 8, 1947, in Jacksonville, Florida to Willie Edward Finn and Emily Wilbert Finn. A graduate of Matthew W. Gilbert, Senior High School, class of 65. He continued to pursue his education at Edward Waters College, only to be drafted in the Army and then later transferring into the Air Force. He spent two-years as a Security Policeman before his honorable discharge which led him to follow a transportation career of 11 years, as a porter with Amtrak trains before retirement.
Known by his family and friends as Mickey. He was an advocate sport fan, devoted to his Jacksonville Jaguars. He made friends everywhere he went from the Eastside to the Northside. He was loved by many in the community.
Walter was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother’s Henry A. and Wesley T. Finn, sister Dorothy D. Finn and daughter Tahesha Thompson.
He leaves to cherish his memories, wife Marcia Finn, son’s Walter Finn, Walter Williams and Terrance Williams of Jacksonville, FL. Daughter’s Contrell Thomas of Jacksonville, FL, Theresa Williams of Jacksonville, FL, Letesha Finn of Jacksonville, FL, Shawnya Ashley of Jacksonville, FL, Bonnie Finn of St. Augustine, FL, Keshuandra Williams of Jacksonville, FL and Deja Finn of Jacksonville, FL. 27 grandchildren and many, many great grandchildren. Sister Willie Mae Grier (Charles), son-in-law Ronald Thompson of Jacksonville, FL, brother-in-law James Merriwether of Jacksonville, FL and sister-in-law’s Sandra Finn of Jacksonville, FL and Barbara Lee of Boston, MA. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and special friends.
