Syreeta Renee (Dees) Marrero

Syreeta Renee Dees Marrero was born April 23, 1982 in El Paso Texas to the late Sharon Evon F. Dees and Sidney Harris Dees, III.  She was brought to Jacksonville to live with her Maternal Grandmother in 1984, then went to live with her parents in Germany then to Killeen Texas where she attended elementary school.  She attended middle and high school here in Jacksonville, at Sandalwood High in 2000.  She married Fernando L. Marrero in January 2010 and they lived in Beaufort South Carolina for a few years.  She returned to Jacksonville and has lived here ever since.  Syreeta died suddenly and unexpectedly on January 19, 2022 here in Jacksonville.

Syreeta was known for her big infectious smile and loving everyone she met.  She always had a helping hand and a take-charge attitude, very caring of her family and friends. 

Syreeta is preceded in death by her mother and Sister, Sidney Shavon Fullwood.  Those left with cherished memories are her daughter: Jasmine Danielle Glennon, Jacksonville, Fl., Her Father: Sidney Harris Dees, III, Harvey, La., Brother: Shawn Lavar Dees, Middleburg, Fl., Maternal Grandmother, Kay Frances Fullwood, Jacksonville, Fl. Grand Uncle: Oliver (Maxine) Green, Jr., Jacksonville, Fl. Nieces: Karmen Renee Dees, Jacksonville, Fl. , Cinderella Scott, Charlotte, NC; Aunt Sylvia Graham, Pensacola, Fl., Aunt Gigi Bradford, New Orleans, La.  A host of family and friends from Beaufort, SC., Savannah, Ga., New York, NY, and all along the East Coast.  Special friends Justin D. Glennon, Alize DeVore, and Ronetta Jones.

There will be no funeral but a private family service, and a memorial service in upcoming month.
