Michael Joseph Carter, Sr.

Michael Joseph Carter Sr passed away unexpectedly on October 12, 2021, at the age of 61, in Memorial Hospital, with his wife, Patricia Carter, and grandson Mikey at his bedside.

Michael was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on February 14, 1960, married his wife in 1980, had a daughter, son, and 8 grandchildren.  He retired from his longtime job at Blount Island where he was a forklift operator. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.  Many of his friends knew him by “Fat Daddy”.  Michael had a passion for poker, NASCAR (Kevin Harvick supporter), fishing & truck repair.  He enjoyed watching his Florida Gators and Jacksonville Jaguars.  He loved listening to 96.9 FM because it was a rock station.  His other His love for his grandchildren was very special and they always made him smile.  He just enjoyed anything that had to do with his grandchildren; Mikey, Brittany, Brandon, Anthony, Justin, Mackenzie, Ashleigh and Levi.

Michael is survived by his wife Patricia of 41 years, his daughter Amanda Carter (John), brother Steven Carter Sr, sister Cathy Taylor, brother-in-law Michael White, sisters-in-law’s Linda Carter, Susan Carter, Grandchildren, lifelong friends Patsy and Raymond Fields and many other precious family members. He was preceded in death by his son Michael Carter Jr (2 years ago), parents Sandra and Andrew Carter.
