Joseph Lee Wade Sr., the son of Samuel and Irene Wade, was born on August 14, 1941. Most of his life, he was affectionately known as “Dickey”. He was born, raised, and lived in Jacksonville, Florida, until he fell asleep in death at his home on March 19, 2020.
Joseph attended school in Duval County and graduated from Old Stanton High School. Following high school, he served in the U. S. Army. He worked the majority of his professional career as a long-distance truck driver and retired from Sears Logistics after seventeen (17) years. He became an active member of the Sanctuary at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in 2010 and fellowshipped there until his death.
Joseph leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 32 years, Frances M. Wade, one brother Earnest Wade, one sister Eartha Jaudon, three daughters: Corene Jones (Alphonso), Remona Jackson (O.C.), LeAndre Primus (Therome), three sons: Joseph Wade, Jr.(Katrina), Jason Wade (Shanoy), Johnathan McDonald (Karen), thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, his beloved cousins Mary Alice Priester (Red), Hattie, Ann, Pastor Earnestine “Tiny” Pemelton, Idella (Baby Sister), Neal, Ike and many other relatives and friends. He rests from his labors awaiting the sounding of the trumpet of God and the return of Jesus Christ to earth.
