Mr. James Henry Lovelace Jr. was born on July 27th, 1933 in Brewton, Alabama to the union of the!late
Reverend James Henry Lovelace Sr. and Jessie Floyd Lovelace. He was the fourth of eleven siblings,
eight of which preceded him in death along with their parents. James accepted Christ at an early age
while attending First Shady Grove Baptist Church in Brewton. He graduated from Boykin High School in
Brewton in 1955.
In the summer of 1962, James relocated to Jacksonville, Florida to be with sister Hattie.! In Jacksonville
he continued his work in the construction trade as a skilled carpenter and all-around handyman. In later
years, he became a member of Faith United Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Reverend Al Boone.
James loved working with his hands and could fix just about anything. He loved gardening and was very
proud of his flowers and any plants he grew. James was also known for his witty personality and always
had a joke to tell. He will be missed as the one who left you with a smile and a laugh.!
James leaves to cherish his memory his beloved Ms. Ruby Boone Robinson, his devoted companion for
the last forty-seven years of his life, two brothers, Willie (Andrea) Lovelace of Pensacola, Florida and Berl
(Darlene) Lovelace of Ridgely, Maryland, a sister-in law, Mary Lovelace of Detroit, Michigan, a host of
Lovelace nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mr. Lovelace also leaves to cherish his memory his extended Jacksonville family, Collette and Michael
Mincey, Kiara Leggett, the entire Boone family, and caregivers Yvonne King-Boone, Alanna Boone
Murphy, and Charles Morris and a host of other sorrowing friends.
