Hugo Rainer Miller was born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 9, 1961 and passed on September 30, 2020. He graduated from Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, Florida where he was a track star. He went on to attend the University of Florida (UF) on a scholarship for track where he later became the founder of the UF Alumni Track and Field Association UFTFAA.
Hugo was an internationally known artist, having had his work exhibited in Europe and other places abroad. He is also the creator of the art style “Arte Mecco”. In addition to his art work, Hugo was also a well-known lecturer, photographer, documentarian and historian. His work has been recognized by the United States Library of Congress.
Hugo is survived by his mother: Claudette Elps (Samuel); father: Samuel Miller; Brothers: Elton Miller (Dahlia) and Samuel Miller; Sisters: Beth Casey (Roy), Brenda Jordan, Bonita Miller, Maria Llewellyn, and Corrine Miller; Nephews: Brandon Washington, Vincent Grayson, Isaiah Miller, Julian Jordan and Joshua Tramel; Nieces: Clarissa Jordan and Israel Miller; and a host of other loved ones and friends.
