Mr. Chester Eugene Childs was born on July 11, 1943, in Baker County, Florida to J.B. Childs and Mariah Blount- Childs. He attended Keller High School in Macclenny, Florida. Mr. Chester Eugene Childs served in the United States Army. He was previously employed as an over the road truck driver. Mr. Chester Eugene Childs retired from self-employment from C and Y Childs Janitorial Services, that was owned and operated by his wife, Yvonne Childs, and himself. Mr. Childs was an active member of his church, Higher Ground Deliverance, C.O.G.I.C, where he served as Deacon as well as on the Board of Trustees.
Mr. Chester Eugene Childs answered the Masters’ call and passed away peacefully on June 8, 2022.
Mr. Chester Eugene Childs was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. Childs, and Mariah Blount -Childs; stepfather, George Willis; 10 siblings; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Chester Eugene Childs leaves behind to carry on his legacy, a loving and devoted wife of 31 years, Mrs. Yvonne Childs; children, Mrs. Cestau Childs-Clark (Anthony), Dr. Mari Hope, Minister Marion Baker, Alicia Whitehurst, Octavia Hodges, and Alphonso Keene; 21 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; godson, Henry Simon; sister-n-laws, Lola McMickens and Bernice Wright (Patrick); nieces, Joyce Sutton, Mary Ann Jones, Mary Alice Cooper, Henry Eva Scarlett, Lela Mae Green (Desmond); cousins, Delores Mosley, Loretta Hanan and a host of loving relatives and sorrowing friends.
