Willie Green Obituary HIS LIFE Willie Lee Green, affectionately known as Knot, was born December 31, 1931, to the late Arthur Lee Green, Sr. and Anne Brantley Green in Desoto, Georgia. His mother passed when his brother and he were young children. Being blessed with loving grandparents, he was raised by Stoman and Lillie Brantley. "Knot" confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Lee County, Georgia, where he served on the Usher Board and as the Driver for the Pastor, Rev. B.B. Mosely, to various church programs. In 1964, he moved to Jacksonville, Florida and joined the Shiloh Baptist Church where he served as a member of the district, "Terrific Ten" for 25 years. He remained faithful until his health declined. "Knot" retired from Georgia Pacific after several years of dedicated employment as a truck driver. He was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Green. He will be remembered by his wife, Dorothy McCorn Green, three children, Willie Odoms of Albany, Georgia; Gwendolyn Davis of Atlanta, Georgia: and Tyrone Washington of Jacksonville, Florida. A stepson, Bernard McCorn of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Arthur Green, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a devoted cousin, Betty Byrd of Albany, Georgia as well as a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
