Veroncia Yvonne Griggs

Veronica Yvonne Phelps was born on May 5, 1951 to Charlie Phelps and Verdell Phelps. She attended local schools of Duval County graduating from Old Stanton and went on to college seeking a nursing degree. Veronica Phelps married Melvin Griggs on July 31, 1969. Veronica Griggs was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Griggs; daughter, Sophia Griggs; son, Melvin (Dejaun) Griggs; her grandmother, Maggie McNealy and several other siblings. She leaves to cherish her memory, mother, Verdell Phelps; father, Charlie Phelps (Sarah), her daughter, Arva Griggs (Fredrick); son Kenneth Bynes; Grandchildren, Devin, Donald, Jajuan Rogers, Malik and Cody Fletcher, Delilah Lowe, Alteena and Alton Gordon, Teressa Vaughn, Brittany and Tashara DeVaughn, Dequan, Dejuan and Ebony Taylor Kenneth, Kenny and Tyja Bynes; Great-grands, Donalyen, Donarya, Kamarion, Donald, Londyn, Jurnee, Paris and Jaeden Rogers and Jamori Taylor; Siblings, brothers, Lorenzo Phelps and David Phelps (Cecilia); Sisters, Maxine Linton, Onertta Worthen (Kenneth), LaShonda Cameron (Reginald), Sarah Phelps and Towana Brown; a host of nieces and nephews, including Felicia Mitchell (Joe) and many other loving relatives and sorrowing friends.
