Vernell Sawyer Obituary Vernell Sawyer was born to the late Ernest and Lutish Perry in Hampton, FL on October 11th 1940. The family later relocated to Jacksonville, FL where she graduated from Matthew W. Gilbert High School. Vernell went on to meet Harold E. Sawyer and they married on April 30th 1971. Over the years many memories were made as their family bloomed. As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother she had a passion for looking after her family. Many would tell you that she prepared home cooked meals everyday of the week for the ones she loved. She was a die hard football fan and loved the Jacksonville Jaguars. She truly enjoyed time spent with family. Vernell Sawyer departed from this life on Friday, January 5th 2024.
