Theotis Passmore Obituary Having lived a life full of faith, joy, success, and service, Theotis Passmore transitioned to heaven on January 12, 2025.
Theotis Passmore was born on August 3, 1941, in Jefferson County, Georgia, to his parents who preceded him in heaven: Robert Paris and Dora Passmore, he was also preceded in Heaven by his sisters, Jacqueline D. Jones and Annette Passmore. It was in Jefferson County that his nurturing spirit was first observed, and he was given the nickname "Boy". He was educated in the Jefferson County School System.
After concluding his studies as a young man, he left Georgia and settled in Jacksonville, Florida. There he began his career with the Seaboard Coastline railroad. After retirement from the railroad, too young to fish full-time and full of too much wisdom not to share, he began the next phase of his work life as an entrepreneur. In his role as an entrepreneur, he flourished and was able to employ and mentor the next generation.
Due to health reasons, he fully retired in 2018. Theotis was well known and respected in his community. He (was a minister), sang in various gospel quartets, and was passionate about spreading the word of God. He would often fellowship with other churches but called United Missionary Baptist Church his home.
Theotis loved family and was a dad to many. He played a pivotal role in the upbringing of his nephews and nieces. He is survived by his sister: Gloria; nephews: James Russell Smith (Paula), Hezekiah Gross (Natasha) and Anthony'Hamp'Dove (Kim); niece: Laneese "MamaDo" Jones (Michael) are just a few. He also loved and is survived by his dear friends: Peewee and Mr. Andy; Goddaughter: Michelle; and a host of family members and friends.
