Shirley Brown Obituary Ms. Shirley Elaine Brown was born on January 11, 1955 in Jacksonville Florida, to the late Mary Brown and raised by the late Ethel Stokes. Ms. Ethel introduced Shirley to Christ at an early age. She attended and graduated from Raines High School. Shirley was employed for many years by a government contractor and during that time she met her loyal devoted fianc and companion, Walter K. Haywood. They remained together for decades up until she departed this life on December 9, 2022. Shirley is survived by two sons, Alfred and Ledell Lawrence; two grandchildren, Samira F. and Shane J. Lawrence; sister, Yvonne Riley; brother, Alphonso McBride; nieces, Gloria Hair, Alyssa "Angel" and Maya Jones (Morgan); nephew, Avery "Hawk" Jones (Morgan). Shirley has a host of family and dear friends that will truly miss her presence here on earth.
