Rhonda Mitchell- Addo Obituary Reverend Dr. Rhonda Mitchell-Addo. M. Div. Th. D. A nave of Jacksonville, Florida and the youngest of eight children. At an early age she was under the protecon of her ve brothers and two sisters, each had their unique personalies, which inuenced their younger sisters thinking and her ability to communicate at a young age with anyone, without fear. Dr. Rhonda was acve in high school acvies. She formed her own singing group and was chosen to be the announcer for the Northwestern Yellow Jackets Marching Band. Also voted by her peers to be high school queen. This was not a surprise to Dr. Rhonda, because she had accepted Jesus Christ at the age of ten years old. She learned early as a child, the importance of an acve prayer life. It was many years later before she told anyone, that one day when she was in the seventh grade, God spoke to her and said "you will be Miss Northwestern, - and it happened! Her Journey took her away from Jacksonville, for many years. She ventured to New York City and appeared on the Apollo Theatre Talent Show, she won second place and a chance to audion for the "Musical Hair". While living in New York (Harlem) she stumbled into evangelism. The church she was a5ending at the me was conducng tent evangelisc summer meengs, and later she was asked to become a Bible Instructor on the communitys missionary team. It was during this me her love for evangelism took root as she witnessed Hundreds of souls came to the lord. She is known as a church planter having served in several areas across the country. As a result, churches were formed. To name a few New Hope in Harlem, NY. Emmaus Tabernacle, in Brooklyn NY, Christ mission in Riverside CA, Bible lighthouse in Clinton MD and Mount Sinai missionary Holiness church in Jacksonville FL. She was ordained in 1990 by Bishop Perry L. Johnson from Washington, D.C. She holds ministerial credenals from the Church of God in Christ and The Missionary Holiness Churches of America. She has served as adjunct professor of Religion at Edward Waters College and Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona, Beach Florida. Dr. Addo earned the following degrees: Associate of Science in Mass Media Communicaons, Oakwood College, Huntsville, Al. Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science/Counseling, Atlanc Union College, Lancaster Mass., Masters of Divinity, Howard University, Washington DC and Doctor of Sacred Theology. An outstanding educator that taught in the public-school system in New York City, Maryland and Jacksonville, Florida. She was a former consultant for youth programming for Black Entertainment Television (BET). She hosted a local Comcast Television Show "The Voices of Hope" and is the author of four books. Dr. Addo is listed in "Whos Who in the East" Annual Book. Over 23 years of marriage to the love of her life Elder Emmanuel Addo who is from Ghana West Africa. A mother of two Adult sons Bishop James C. Polite, Jr, and U.S. Army Veteran Phillip Mitchell Polite. A grandmother and mother to so many more. She wore many hats and treated each person special.
