Nellie McGriff Obituary Mrs. Nellie Antionette Sam McGriff was born on September 14, 1953 in Jacksonville, Florida to Rodney Sam and Angles Tolbert. She attended William M. Raines High School and graduated from Florida Community College of Jacksonville. She met and married Richard McGriff. She was employed by Quest Diagnostic for over 10 years of service. She was an active member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. She was well known in her family for her skills within the culinary art. Nellie would watch all the cooking channels and prepare every recipe possible with outstanding results. Nellie always had a bright beautiful smile. Mrs. McGriffs home, arms and heart was always a safe haven for those who knew her best. Nellie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 30 years, Richard McGriff; son, Council Perry McGriff; grandchildren, Caliah and Council Perry McGriff Jr.; brothers, Anthony (Henrietta) Sam, Wesley (Terry) Sam, Walter (Pia) Sam and a host of relatives within the McGriff and Ford Families.
