LIFE HISTORY OF ROSIE LEE HENDERSON Rosie Lee Matthews Henderson was born May 11, 1932 to Hew and Bessie Matthews in Camden, Alabama. She attended Camden Academy and graduated with honors as a Salutatorian. Rosie continued her education at EWC. Her career started as a Teacher's Aide. She owned her own Cleaning Service and she was also a cater (her heart). She was a member of Eastern Star and Incomparable Ladies. Because of her cleaning service, she was blessed with many friends and extended families with lifelong relationships. She loved to cook and care for people. She met and married in 1955 Roosevelt Henderson of Vrenburg, Alabama. In 1956, they moved to Jacksonville, Florida. She was blessed with three children, two of which preceded her in death, Carolyn Henderson Grimes and Ronald Henderson. She was also preceded in death by five siblings, Dave Stallworth, Goldie McCants, Clariswsee Dortch, Lucie Ann Sigler and Mary Lane Stallworth. In 1971, she and her husband bought their first home in Washington Lake Estates. Her husband and son owned five businesses over the years. She found Christ at an early age in Hybart, Alabama at Wayman Chapel AME Church. She was a faithful member of Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church and so is her husband under the leadership of Elder Roy Franklin, Pastor. Left to cherish her memories, husband of 57 years, Rosevelt Henderson; daughter, Clausell Rivers; five granchidren, Felicia Lindsay 'Mucho', Monique Norris (Richard 'Snook), Shawn Rivers, Ronnell Hughes 'Pooh' and Ronesha Fann; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Horace McCall,82; many loving and devoted family members; she was blessed with cousins that were more like sisters and brothers; nieces and nephews that were more like sons and daughters and a host of Godchildren. Rosie, as she was well known, lived a very full life.
