Mattie Sims Obituary Mattie Bell Crocker, the firstborn of the late Marie Walker was born in Stewart County, Georgia on July 22, 1934. Her father was the late Hollis Crocker. She attended the local schools in Georgia. She married Charlie W. Muff Sr, moved to Jacksonville Florida, and to their union they shared five children; Charlie W. Jr., Nettie, Mary, Brenda, and Robert Muff. She later shared her life with her favorite fishing partner and late husband, George Sims. She enjoyed the life they built in Orlando, Florida, always surrounding herself with her children and grandchildren. Taking care of others and compassionately loving everyone she touched was her calling and until her retirement, she diligently worked as a Nurse for more than 30 years; loving those she cared for and worked with as though they were her family. After retiring from Orlando Care Center, she continued to enjoy traveling, more fishing, and spending quality time with her children and her beloved grands. Finally, Mattie settled once again in Jacksonville, Florida, and enjoyed being close to her extended family until God called her home to her eternal reward. Mattie Bell Sims was predeceased by her parents, her husband, George Sims, her daughters, Nettie Muff Dowell and Brenda Muff, granddaughter, Cassandra Gay; her sisters MayBelle Merritt and Mae Thelma Fisher and her brother, Johnny B Prince. She will be fondly remembered and treasured by her sister Lucille Clayton and brothers, Franklin D. Sr. and Willie James Prince; her sons, Charlie W. Muff Sr.(Vanessa) and Robert Muff and her daughters, Mary Muff and Jewel(Sherman)Hall. The life lessons she shared will forever be treasured by her Grandchildren: Carla(William)Mahone, Tracy Anderson, Katrina Muff-Hayes, Lateasha Anderson, Shameika Dowell, Gwennetta Patterson, Christina(Dwayne)Washington, Michael(Shona)Muff, Charlie W. (Tanisha Williamson)III, Mattie N. Ealey, Wallace L. (Sabrina) Livingston, Donald Lipford and Tyrone(Lisa)Muff; nephews, Thomas R. James and John W. (Carrian)Rooks Jr and nieces, Glenda (Johnny) McCollors-McClendon, Janice (Ronald) Brooks and Cathy(Frank)Henderson; her special and devoted friends, Donald Lipford, Ulyssee Perry and Barbara Wilson. Her legacy will continue to be bright in the lives of her host of 34 Great-grandchildren and 21 Great-great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
