Mary Ruth Streater

I Thessalonians Chapter 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. Mary Ruth Streater was born July 15th 1920 in Eufaula, AL to the late Wesley and Carrie Hardaway. She departed this life on January 10th 2015. She proceeds in death with the following brothers: Roy and Mack Hardaway ;sisters: Thelma Hardaway Griglen and Pearl Hardaway Paige; grandchildren Kelvin Wells and Vicki Lewis; great grandson Antwain Lowry Sr. and great great grandson JaKari Lewis. Mary Streater was educated in Barbour County in Eufaula, AL. She accepted Christ at an early age. She moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1950 and became a proud and faithful member of Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the late Rev E.R. Simpson. During that time she served faithfully as a deaconess on board #1. Mary Streater will forever be remembered by her love and devotion to Christ. Always praying for and motivating others in the Lord. His light shined through her into others while here on earth. She leaves to cherish her memories two siblings Robert Hardaway and Nettie Scott: Four daughters Inez Jackson (Moses), Willie Mae Burns, Janie Nelson, and Bobbie Davis (Richard), and her only son Willie Streater Jr. (Yvonne). Also, 17 grandchildren of whom she raised Audrey Green and Tanga Smith, 47 great grandchildren raising Markilo Miles, 34 great great grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. To God is the glory. Again, Mary Streater will always be remembered by the love she shared for others and most of all the Lord.
