Ms. Marline "Mama" Black was born on August 14, 1946 to the late Lottie and Rich Maddox. She attended local schools in Jacksonville, FL. Marline retired from the Salvation Army. She was an active member of Church of the Living God. She was also an active participant with PALS and Eyelab. She mentored a host of many people of different walks of life, providing spiritual guidance and motivation by phone. Mama was well known for giving good advice and being a prayer warrior. She loved helping people, crocheting and cooking. There wasn't a dish that she didn't know how to make. Mama was preceded in death by her mother, father, and grandson Derrick Gentry. Marline is survived by sister, Willie Mae Alvarado (Porfirio); brother in law, Herbert Black (Pauline); Sister in Law, Joan Toler, brother, Charles "Bubba Jr" Douglass (Liz); sister, Patsy Gammons. Daughters: Ramona Anderson (Donald), Tracy Black, Cheryl Grant (Tim), Tammy Elaine Black, Wanda Walker. Sons: Willie Black III (Virginia); Kenneth Black (Hope). Grandchildren: Latoya Black, Kenneth Black Jr. (Shatara), Jennifer Mungin, Natasha Black, Joshua Bell, Jasmine Black, Giovanni Bell, Isaiah Bell (grandma's angel) and Lacey Thompson. A total of 9 great grandchildren. Very special friends Ms. Mary Baker and Julius Baker, Deborah Ann, Mother Henry, Geraldine Skipper, Gloria Simmons, and Jeanie Pooh. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
