Lucille Brown Medlock Obituary Deaconess Lucille S. Brown-Medlock, of Sheldon, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 77 years. Lucille was born in Sheldon, South Carolina to Curtis Scott and Rebecca Black- Brooks (both deceased) on October 12, 1943. She went to school in Tampa, Florida and Jacksonville, Florida. She married Eddie Brown (deceased) in Folkston, Georgia. She worked as a Teacher for Browns Daycare for 20 years. She was involved in Eastern Star Organization, Florida Mass Choir and was the Deaconess of her church. Lucille is preceded in death by her father Curtis Scott and mother Rebecca Black- Brooks; husband Eddie Brown; and fourteen other siblings. Lucille is survived by her sisters Jeanette Cohen (Gorden) and Meliza Brooks- Thorpe (Emory); brother Herbert Brooks (Gwen); Nieces Christine Brooks-Thorpe, Dorothy Black, Towanna Gibbs (Darrell), Elisa Ellison (Joseph), Antoinette Cohen, Shantel Cohen; Nephews Christopher Brooks-Thorpe, John Black, Terry Black (Tonya); lifelong best friends Clam Dawkins, Freddie Battley, Kathleen and Marvin Wright. Lucille will also be forever remembered by her many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at CL Page Mortuary, 3031 Moncrief Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32209. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, 2600 Ribault Scenic Drive, Jacksonville, Florida 32208.
