Leslie G. Farquharson, Sr.

Leslie Farquharson, Sr. Obituary Mr. Leslie George Farquharson Sr. (Calvin) was born on the 4/25/1929 in the district of Brenard, St. Mary Jamaica, West Indies, to Ivan Farquharson and Lillian Garriques. He attended primary school in Jamaica. After his mother migrated to England, he resided with his father and stepmother in the parish of St. Thomas. Years later, he migrated to the USA and settled in Jacksonville, FL. He met and was married to Emma Jean Edwards until her death in September 2018. Their union produced one son, Leslie George Farquharson Jr. He was employed by JEA for 28 years and was an active member of True Holiness Church where he served as a Deacon for many years. He was known for his positive attitude, his love for everyone, and his willingness to give and to help those in need, when and wherever he could, with whatever he had. He is survived by his children Deana Farquharson, Leslie George Farquharson Jr. (Bubba), and his stepdaughter Dana Taylor. Grandchildren, Catherine Farquharson, Jonathan Jackson, David Jackson, and Krystal Jackson. Brothers, Danny Farquharson and Trevor Farquharson. He was preceded in death by his parents Ivan Farquharson and Lillian Garriques, daughter Nerissa Jackson, wife Emma Farquharson, brother J.B. Hale, and sisters Nessa Senior and (recently) Monica Campbell. He will be remembered by his family, friends and loved ones for the strength that he displayed in the best and worst of times, standing as a rock for everyone else to lean on. He kept his composure through all loss and pain no matter what transpired. When his wife passed, he only let out a few tears, continuing to hold strong so he could be a rock for his family. Even in his last days and moments when asked if he was in any pain, he would respond each time with "Im okay."
