~Life's Reflections~ Leonard T. Mobley, affectionately known as "Fish" is the second of nine children born to the late Rev. Albert Mobley, Sr., and Mrs. Juanita Lee Mobley in St. John's County, Florida on July 11, 1952. Leonard received his early education in the public schools of Duval County, Samuel C. Wolfson Senior High School class of 1970. He also attended the North Florida Institute of Police Technology, receiving several certifications. During his pre-teen years, Leonard loved everything about funeral service and forensics. He often told stories of how he would line up all of his toy cars in a line as if they were in a funeral procession, and he would always be the "Mortician". This love of funeral service and forensics landed him his humble beginnings in the funeral industry at the Guyton Casket Company and the Jeter and Baker Funeral Home. From working at these two places and being in and out of various funeral homes, he met a Funeral Director by the name of Samuel C. Rogers of the Dallas Graham and Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Rogers took Leonard under his wings as his son, and taught him everything about funeral service; from embalming, funeral directing and most importantly; meeting the needs of families. This would later lead to Leonard working at various other funeral homes; Whittington - Rogers Funeral Home, Samuel C. Rogers and Sons Funeral Home, A. B. Coleman, Harris Mortuary, Garrett & Young Mortuary, and Garrett - Young - Page Mortuary. All of this invaluable experience led to his ultimate career as a Forensic Investigator for the Duval County Medical Examiner's Office. Leonard started working at the Duval County Medical Examiner's Office as an Autopsy Technician. He then became a Forensic Investigator and gained the name of "Quincy" and "Doc". He rendered over 20 years of dedicated service and retired in 2007. After retiring he worked part-time at C. L. Page Mortuary, lending a helping hand when he could. Leonard T. Mobley "Fish" - The Family Man "Fish" was a loving and kind husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and a friend to many. He never met a stranger and always had a smile upon his face. "Fish" was a man of many words and always had something positive to say to anyone needing an encouraging word. He loved his family and took every opportunity to visit and socialize at various cookout and family functions. "Fish" took pride in his grandkids, who affectionately called him "Pops." Leonard was preceded in death by his father and mother, Rev. Albert Mobley, Sr., and Mrs. Juanita Lee Mobley; grandfathers, Mr. Fred Jackson and Mr. Mack Mobley; grandmothers, Mrs. Rivannah Jackson and Mrs. Coreatha Gibson; uncles, Mr. Hiram Jackson and Mr. Ellsworth Jackson; brother, Mr. Vincent Mobley; sister, Mrs. Annette Crawford and best friends, Mr. Craig Garrett, Mr. Leroy Hampton and Mr. Alvoid Payton.
