Leon L. Milton

December 9, 1949 — March 18, 2025

Mr. Leon Lamar Milton was born on December 9,1949 to the late Mr. Terry Lee Milton, Sr and Mrs. Bernice Dixon Milton in Jacksonville, Fl. Mr. Milton was the baby of four siblings. Leon was educated in the public schools of Duval County.

Early in his life, Leon was affectionately known as “B Trap” as he was known to be an attractor of young ladies as bees are to honey (laugh). Leon faced many hurdles along his journey and successfully crossed each one with grace and dignity, resulting a stronger and wiser man.

Leon was a “true believer” in the power of God’s word and was an avid study who would selflessly shepherd the word and wisdom to all those who would listen. Leon had an extraordinary ability to decipher the Bible and real life simultaneously. He has been in the company of some of the world’s most notable scholars, he fascinated them with his ability to pinpoint and decode the Holy Book.

Leon’s life work embodies the meaning of the word serv-ice (noun): the action of helping or doing work for someone. Leon had a way of inspiring others to do the work to get in tune with their higher angels (with him at their side as a guide). He lived a life based on peace and cultural identity. It came through in his attire and the music he listened to and shared with others. He was the center of all our gatherings. God put a powerful light around him. We were blessed to be in his company.

Leon served his community as a spiritual council and professionally as an employee at Jax Electric Authority until his retirement in 2014. Most importantly, Leon served his family well as a son, brother, father, grand-father, great-grandfather, uncle and brother-n-law; all roles he held in high regard. His voice and teachings will be sorely missed by all his family and friends. May he finally rest in peace for all eternity.

Mr Leon Lamar Milton peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, March 18,2025. He was preceeded in death by his parents; his brother, Terry Lee Milton, Jr; his sisters, Claudette M. Taylor and Joanette M. Ransom; his nephew, Jerome Tippins. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Tanya Adams; grand-children: Antwan Adams (Whitney); Tyrone Mangram, Jr; Darius Mangram and Jakeria Adams; great-grandchildren: Jamecia Johnson, Kier Mangram, Liana Mangram, AnaiYah Adams, Na’omi Adams; Sister-n-law, Iris Milton; Nieces: Latrese Tunsill (Lance), Terri Milton, Akilah Tunsill (Edwin); Dequila Lang; Qwentilya Lang; Amanda Green; Nephews: Tyrone Thomas, Deatry Lang, Jr; Deatry Lang III; Ahn Dukes; Brad Tolliver; and a number of other cousins, relatives and special friends.
