Leo Bernard Robinson

December 21, 1956 — September 10, 2025

Mr. Leo Bernard Robinson,” Bern” as his mom called him, was born on December 21, 1956 in Jacksonville, FL to Leo Robinson & Mary Ellen Williams-Robinson. He attended local schools in Duval County and graduated from Sandalwood High School on June 06, 1975.

Leo married Theresa Morgan in 1975. They later divorced, but not before having their first and only child together, a daughter. He later became a father to five more children: four sons and another daughter.

He worked various jobs throughout his life and was working on obtaining his CDL license before he became ill. Leo also worked for the State attorney’s office through his employer’s contract as a Cleaning Technician and was employed there until his health caused him to stop working and retire.

Leo was raised on the word of God and prayer. In February 2025, he joined Right Direction Baptist Church, where his son-in-law, Pastor Paul Jackson, serves as Pastor. Leo accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized on March 9, 2025, a momentous occasion he shared with his family and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Leo remained committed to serving the Lord and daily gave thanks to God for his grace and blessings, even during his final transition.

Leo was known as a hardworking and committed man who took great pride in his work. As an excellent painter, he enjoyed painting homes and businesses. His favorite pastime was getting up early to go fishing, and he always said, "The best fish are the ones you catch." Leo had a notable sweet tooth and liked to bake his famous fruit cobbler. Though he loved all sweets, blue velvet cake was his particular favorite. You could often find him sitting in front of his house enjoying the day, or walking to the neighborhood store.

He enjoyed spending time with his children and his grandchildren, whom he adored very much.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Calvin W. Robinson, and his only niece, Candy L. Robinson, whom he loved dearly.

Leo is survived by his children: Stephanie (Paul) Jackson, Leo D. (Monica) Robinson, Rayshawn Robinson, Whitney Washington, Joshua Robinson and James Robinson; 19 Grandchildren: Kenneth Jr, Kania & Kendrick Hagans, Ashley, Nathan and De'Ondre Jackson; Kingston, Leniya, Leo Jr, Jordan & Nautica Robinson and Brielle Townsend; Skai & Ray’Ven Robinson; Dekyonta, Dariyonna, Darielle Early and Chester Vickerson Jr; Antonio Robinson; Sister: Phyllis Ray, Aunts, Cousins, Nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
