Larry Thomas Stephens

Mr. Larry Thomas Stephens - Well known resident of Jacksonville, Florida. was born April 15,1945 and was called home by our Lord on February 18, 2013. Larry was preceded in death by his father Henry Stephens in 1955 and by his loving mother Lovett Stephens in August 1963. He is survived by his wife Deloris Stephens who in addition with their daughter Cassandra Stephens provided him the most loving care possible during his illness. He attended the local Schools and was a graduate of Old Stanton High School. Larry played football and basketball and was awarded a Basketball Scholarship to Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina. He was so talented that he made the first team as a freshman. He was employed by Pantry Pride Warehouse seventeen years and later by Ivy Wire and Cable. He was a member of New Life Community Church 113 West 17th Street, Pastors Gerald Boston and Lee Welkley. He was a Praise Team Member. He leaves in addition to his wife and daughter, other relatives include 3 sisters, Lorraine Ashe (Isiah) Loretta Thomas (deceased) and Sylvia Stephens (deceased). 2 Brothers Ralph L. Stephens and Henry L. Stephens Jr. (deceased) Neices include Cheryl Thomas, Carla Richards (Beric), Lisa Thomas, Trina Thomas and Sherelle Martin among others. Nephews Raymond Thomas Jr. (Debra Terry) Robert Thomas, Michael Wells, Calvin Jennings, Lucious Jennings Jr. Sister-In-laws Gwen Stephens, Betty Jean Brown, Gloria Jean Jennings, Lillie Bell Wells. Brother-In-laws Isiah Ashe, Raymond Thomas Sr. (deceased), John H. Jennings and Luscious Jennings. He leaves many other grand neices and nephews and cousins who will really miss his love and affection that he displayed to one and all.
