Katie Rose Dawson

Katie R. Dawson was born on October 13, 1928 in Graceville, Florida to the late Gus Roberts and Cora L .Pollard. She attended and graduated from Carver High School. She met and married the late Henry Dawson, Jr. in the late 1940s. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Dawson, Jr. and son Kirtrell J. Dawson. She was employed by Ideal Toys and sparingly as a housekeeper. Katie was and active member of Holy Ghost Tabernacle COGIC in Vauxhall, NJ where she was an evangelist. She was well known as being a wonderful and sweet woman, wife and mother. She loved to go to church, cook and being around her family. Her favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm. Katie is survived by her 5 sons Henry Dawson, III, Deacon Michael Dawson (Debra), Deacon Steven Dawson (Deloise), Douglas Dawson (Melissa) Kenneth Dawson, 2 daughters, Joan Dawson-Butler (Gary) and Angela Brantley. 2 Brothers, Pastor Ulus M. Roberts (Nancy) and Elder Shedrich Roberts (Mary) and 1 sister Susie A. Williams. She also leaves to cherish her memory 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
