Julia Henry Obituary Ms. Julia Mae Henry was born on April 10, 1940, in Quitman, Georgia, to Joseph L Mithcell and Julia Lee Mitchell. Julia was the oldest of 10 children and she was preceded in death by both of her parents and two (2) brothers Eli and James Mitchell. She attended the local schools of Brooks County but obtained her Diploma from Staton High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Julia was married to Richard A. Henry in which they had three (3) daughters. She worked for 27 years as a Diocesan staff member. She worked from 1978 to 2005 under the service of the Rt. Rev. Frank Cerveny, the Rt. Rev. Stephen Jecko and a short period under the Rt. Rev. John Howard as the Diocesan bishop. She has been an active member of the Greater Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in which she regularly attended Sunday School and served in the Church Choir. She has been known for her caring and loving spirit in the community. You can never leave her presence without her giving you something. She was always seen baking or working in her yard. She had the magic touch to make anything grow. To continue her memory, she leaves her three daughters: Vera H Standifer (Ernest), Diane, and Darlene Henry all of Jacksonville, Florida. She has two (2) granddaughters Dominigue Standifer and Hilary Foster (Michael) and 2 great grandsons-Micah and Myles Foster. In addition, she will be missed by her many grandchildren of love: Kirsten Booker, Daniel Blocker, Rasheed and Zaria Lewis, Juliana Booker, Julian Booker-Hill, Jeremiah Gilley, Cynthia Stafford and Starr Lee. She continued to extend her unending love to her three godchildren: Patrice C. Woods, Jalen Everett, and Rev. Perry Robinson. Also, a very special nephew who was like a son- Norman Everett and a caring niece Sheree Holden. The true heartbeat of her life were her siblings: Joseph Mitchell aka Jr., E. Doris James (Johnny), Mary Everett (James), Willie D. Mitchell, Katherine Clark (Emanuel), Beulah Ivory (Clifford), and Maggie Gray. With esteem affection and love for over 40 years, Bishop Frank and Emily Cerveny have featured in Julias life along with Laura Fant and Ms. Cater.
