Joy Annette Flaggs

She was born in Gary, IN, to the late Lorraine King Smith and William King.

She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Gary, IN. She graduated from FCCJ with and LPN nursing degree.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Flaggs and two sons; Sidney Flaggs and Terry Flaggs.

She is survived by her four sisters; Patricia (Oliver) Smith, and Kariel (Kitty) Scott, of Jacksonville, FL, Laurie (Artie) Brown of Prattsville, AL, and Yolanda (Brian) Cannady of Aurora, CO, grandchildren; Caterrica Flaggs, Terry Flaggs, Jr., Michael Flaggs, Cameron Smith, Sidney. Jr., Terry, Jermel, Terrica Flaggs, and Dasia Darby, two granddaughters; Janecia Haughton and Rylee Darby, nephew Gerrard, and her devoted caregiver and (mother of four of her grandchildren) Cosette Mitchell and a host of family and friends.
