John Parkins Obituary John David Parkins Jr John David Parkins was born on December 27, 2001, to Shaneka Johnson and John Parkins in New Brunswick, New Jersey John recently graduated from Mandarin High School in May of 2021. He was a good student and always one of the most respectful young men you will ever meet. If you knew John, you knew that his favorite things in life were his family, cars, football and macaroni and cheese. Johns passion for cars started when he was a toddler. He loved cars, knew every make and model of cars known to man and he absolutely enjoyed attending car shows. John was a mommas boy. You would often find him and his mom going out shopping or just taking a ride with her to wherever she was going. He was definitely "mommys sidekick," and boy did he love her. Johns father "Big John" is a truck driver, he and his dad would always talk about driving and working on cars and truck. He was his nanas pride and joy, always helping her. She was always calling on John for one thing or another and telling him to do something (Insider- "John go to bed!") he being the helpful and respectful man that he was would do it. He was the apple of his sister Jasmines eye. She would follow him anywhere and everywhere he let her. They had the best relationship siblings could ever have. Always laughing together and joking around. John was definitely a jokester, always smiling showing those handsome dimples, he would have everyone around him cracking up. John and his sister Jasmine could not wait to get to New Jersey every summer to spend time with his extended family especially "the cousins." John was blessed to have a bonus family. He and his best friend, Isaiah, were more like brothers. Because of this he was adopted as another son In Tyrone and Sheys home. Johns love of football became his drive for his future. He was good! If you never saw him on that field, you truly missed one fast, athletic wonder, because that boy could move. John began playing with the Arlington Football Association when he was ten years old under Coach Flip, Coach Damion and Coach Jai-J. John looked up to Coach Jai-J, as he became Johns mentor and one of his biggest fans. He and John would talk about everything. John was so good in the game that he became MVP at Twin Lakes, playing under Coach Gamble. He went on to play football for Mandarin High School and within one year he was awarded MVP once again. In August of 2021 John began his first year in college at Middle Georgia State University, where he played football under Coach Victor Hall. John not only played football, but he also volunteered his time on the field with the younger kids when he got older. Johns mother raised him with strong Christian values, and it was evident in his everyday life. John and his family were members of House of Prayer Church. Though God saw fit to call him home at a very young age and too soon for our hearts, we know God makes no mistakes and that John is running around heaven with a big smile and those deep dimples.
