John Thomas, Jr Obituary Mr. John Charles Thomas Jr. was born on May 30, 1928, in Americus, Georgia to John Charles Thomas Sr. and Lillie Mae Thomas. He attended Franklin Street/Gilbert High School in Duval County. He met and married Mary Ethel Louise Sparrow on June 20, 1951, the only love of his life. He was employed as a Forman/Supervisor at Ginter Box Company for over 48 years that became Christian Packaging Box Company until they closed. He was a standing member for decades at Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church until his demise. He was well known to many as Papa Trojan at Ribault Senior High School. He has been a real father, real man to so many. He was a provider and protector. Hes been called: Uncle Jr., Mr. Johnnie, J.T., Bo Diddley, Bubba, J.C., Mr. Thomas, Daddy, Granddaddy, and my husband. John passed away peacefully at his new home with his wife, Mary (Bernice) and some of his other family members on Sunday, February 27, 2022. John Charles Thomas Jr. was proceeded in death by his father and mother, Mr. John C. Thomas Sr. and Mrs. Lillie Mae Thomas, sisters Mattie Lou Thomas and Geraline Weeks. His granddaughter, Alisha Nichol Morris and Great-grand daughter, Arneisha Annette Morris. Raised cousins: Julia Marie LaSeer and Zerelda Thompson. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Mary Ethel Louise (Bernice), of 70 years. Children: Cheryle Thomas, Lula Jones, Mary Mainor, Bernadette Williams (Lewis), John C. III (Cheryle), Ronald Sr. (Phyllis), Mandy Annett Lee Kierce, Bonus Daughter: Dessie Young Raised Cousins: Samuel Tillman Jr., Mosezella Ousley, Minnie Graham, Elizabeth Hall. Brother and Sister (twins): Earnest Thomas (Carolyn) and Earnestine Hawkins, Nieces: Nancy Yarber and Gloria Lovett. Grandchildren:19, Great Grand children: 50, and Great Great Grand children: 13. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
