James 'Jimmy' Baker

BAKER - Mr. James Rufus, 'Jimmy', 70, passed away on Oct. 3, 2012 at Shands Hospital. He was born Feb. 10, 1942 to parents, Cassie Baker Hamilton and James Baker in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from New Stanton High School. James was a well known entrepreneur in the city. He was owner/operator of Baker's Trucking for many years, co-owner of Mr. 'C's' Restaurant and the 'Crab Man.' He was also known as 'Santa Claus' for the Annual Spirit of Christmas held for the community at C. L. Page Mortuary. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Rufus and Pauline Baker and brother, Raymond Hamilton. He leaves to cherish, sons, Torebio Stubbs, Marion Baker, Jackie Hooper, Michael W. Baker and Alphanso Keene; daughters, Mari Baker-Hope, Yolanda Laster, Jacquelyn Cross, Alicia Whitehurst (Darryl), Octavia Hodges (Macio), Chante Baker, Tonya McBride, Brandi Bolden, Salone Fisher and Deborah Bolden; siblings, Mark Baker, Carl Hamilton and Paula Hamilton; cousins, Ethel Hughes, Reginald 'Reggie' Baker and Major Baker; special relatives and friends, his wife, Delores Bolden and Carla Page; 21 grands, a host of great grands and loving relatives and sorrowing friends.
