Mrs. Ida Mae Williams was born on February 5, 1931 in Huntsville, Alabama to Millie Christine and James Fletcher. She attended Huntsville, Alabama Public Schools. She met and married Ruffer Williams. She was employed by Hilton Hotel for 10 years of service. She was an active member of New Mt. Moriah AME Church. She was well known in her community for over 54 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruffer Williams; sons Jimmy C. Fletcher and Carl A. Howard; parents, James and Millie C. Fletcher; brother, Willie C. Fletcher; sisters Helen Douglas and Gladys Carter; grandson, Dewayne Shelton, Jr. She is survived by five children, James (Abbie) Fletcher, Cherry Drummond, William Draper, Betty Mordecai and Dewayne (Shelton) Shelton, Sr.; 8 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Earline Vicars; brother, Benny (Linda) Vicars of Cincinnati, Ohio; brother-in-law McKinly Douglas of Cincinnati, Ohio; special friends, Rosa Lee Austin, Queen Pratt, Dorothy Fisher, Steve Seltzer, Ora Lee, Don Evans and a host of other loving relatives and sorrowing friends.
