I.D. Lockett

The late Mr. I.D. Lockett was born November 28, 1919 in Leesburg, Georgia to Rev. Bennie Lee Lockett, Sr. and Lula Malone. He was the oldest of 18 children. On June 17, 1950 he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Earnestine Taylor who preceded him in death after 63 years of marriage. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a construction laborer until retirement. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. I.D. was preceded in death by wife Earnestine Lockett and sons, Eugene and Clifford Lockett. He leaves to cherish his memories, daughters, Evelyn Gilbert and Linda (Paul) Pate; sons, David Lockett of Modesto, California, Marvin (Lolita) Lockett; grandson, Sr. Airman Zachary Pate of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers, Bennie (Beatrice) Lockett, Jr. of Albany, Georgia, James Lockett of Orlando, Florida, Roosevelt Lockett of Detroit, Michigan, Jerome (Ella) Lockett of Akron, Ohio, John (Annie) Lockett of Carrollton, Georgia and Harold Lockett of Knoxville, Tennessee; sisters, Arthur Lee Jolly, Bennie L. Harris of Toronto, Ohio, Helen Thompson of Detroit, Michigan, Eddie M. Oliver and Lula (Robert) Montgomery of Albany, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
