Donna Marie Jones was born on July 6, 1967, in Jacksonville, Florida, a cherished gift from the Lord to her loving parents, Mae Frances and Eddie Leon Jones Jr., both of whom preceded her in death, along with her beloved first set of twins, Nicholas and Victoria. Affectionately referred to as "Donna Marie," she began her educational journey in the Duval County Public Schools and proudly graduated from Andrew Jackson High School with the Class of 1985.
It was during her childhood while playing outside that Donna's life took a transformative turn. A gentle giant named Elder R.L. Dixon approached her with an invitation to church, offering transportation to and from services. Accepting his invitation, Donna felt an immediate connection, marking the beginning of her lifelong journey of faith. At the tender age of 13, she dedicated her life to Christ, embracing a path filled with love, devotion, and unwavering faith.
Donna's love for the Lord was deep and unwavering. She studied the Word diligently, lived it boldly, and shared God's goodness with everyone she met. Her heartfelt prayers, often described by her nephew Rico as capable of lulling one to sleep like a bedtime story, echoed the depth of her spirituality. Her acceptance of the Lord's call to ministry at a young age culminated in her being licensed as Evangelist Missionary Donna Marie Jones.
On July 10, 2025, after a life filled with faithful service and love, the Lord called her home. We believe He welcomed her with open arms, saying, "Come home to me, sweet child of mine. Job well done. You may now enter the gates of Heaven and walk the streets of gold. No more suffering, no more tears."
Donna is lovingly remembered by her siblings: Lawanda Denise Jones, Robert Montinez, Lavetta McCoy, Paulette Lorena Lee, Paul Lorenzo, Portia Jones, Sheree Lynette, Kenneth McClendon, Stacey Latonia Jones, Bobby Bell Sr., and Tanya Adams, alongside her cherished sister Linda Love.
Through her spiritual journey, Donna became a beloved member of another family, guided by the late Bishop R. L. Dixon and his wife, Martha Dixon. This bond gifted her with honorary siblings, including Cynthia Dixon, Linda and Gregory Evans, Pastor Timothy and Dee Dixon, and the late Zephaniah Dixon.
She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom were touched by her unwavering love and guidance. Donna’s journey was also enriched by the mentorship of Pastor Oliver and Connie Jenkins, who significantly shaped her walk in faith.
Her vibrant personality, generous heart, and infectious spirit attracted many friends and chosen family members throughout her life, including the entire Smith family, Mikita Showers-Fox, Immanuel Fox, and dedicated family supporters like Kevin Fowler, Voncrusha Easton (William in spirit), Vanita Foster, Kecia Forcine, and Shena Singleton. These wonderful individuals provided love, care, support, and prayers when she needed them most.
Donna's life was a beautiful melody of praise, a testimony of grace, and a radiant beacon of light for all who knew her. Today, we do not mourn as those without hope; instead, we celebrate a life well-lived, a soul deeply loved, and a woman who finished her race with joy. Rest well, dear Donna Marie; you have truly earned your crown of life. "Be faithful even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor's crown." (Revelation 2:10b NIV)
