Eugene Grissett Obituary The late Eugene Bruce Grissett, affectionately known as Ace, departed his life on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Born on November 10, 1954, in Jacksonville, FL, Bruce was the youngest of four children born to the late Calvin and Bamie L. Grissett Jr. Bruce was educated at Stanton High School and was baptized at an early age. Bruce worked for many years at Reichhold Chemicals and Jim Walters Papers Company before retiring. Throughout his life, Bruce had an immense love for sports and musictwo passions that brought him much joy. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Always full of stories and wisdom, Bruce had a way of making you laugh while imparting knowledge, and, as he would often say, 'he knew it all.' The Lord, seeing Bruce grow tired, called him home to rest. He leaves a legacy of love and memories to cherish a devoted wife Rosa Lee Grissett, his daughters: Lucille Grissett, Donenea (Tony) Miller, Siteria Edwards, Taisha (Commodry) Darthard, Caldonia (Garrick) Moore. His siblings, Robert (Melinda) Grissett, Shirley Burney, Cynthia (Michael) Harvell, God-sister Sharel Grissett-Macon, along with his beloved Uncle Willie J. (Glender) Grissett, also mourn his loss. Bruces extended family includes nieces and nephews Jocelyn (Eddie) Mitchell, Valarie (Otis) Jones, elan (Henry) Simmons, Larry (Lisa) Gardner, Cherie Grissett, Cheryl Grissett, Elaine Gardner, and Ricky Gardner, Bruce also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, along with a host of other family members and friends who loved him dearly. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, laughter, and wisdom will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
