Miss Doretha Drake was born on 9/24/1927 in Camak, Ga to the late Gus and Eva Mae Drake. She attended Warrenton County Schools where she graduated in 1945. In the late 1950's she moved to Jacksonville, Fl with her late sister Lorraine Drake. Her first job in FL was a vendor at the Beaver Street Farmers Market . She was well known for having the best products so people would travel far and wide to shop with her. She then moved on to work for Sunray Nursing Home for 20 years and Avery Boarding Home for 15 years as a caretaker. Doretha was the matriarch and the oldest surviving member of her family. She was a wonderfully outspoken and feisty woman with a great personality and a sense of humor. She was very entertaining and enjoyed making her family and friends laugh. She was a very dependable and loyal friend. In her free time, she thoroughly enjoyed playing cards and cooking. She lived a very wonderful, full, and complete life. She was proceeded in death by her parents Gus an Eva Mae Drake, her 8 siblings, Daughter Doretta (Elaine) Drake. Grandson: Rontonio Drake Sons: Alison and Bruce Drake. She leaves to cherish her beloved memory Daughters: Caressa Howell, Alisa Pitts, Paulette Drake, and Antrice Drake. Grandchildren: Samuel Drake, LaKeisha Wooden (Maurice), Ameilia Morrison (Raymond), Jerry Drake. John Pitts III, Rodriquez Drake, Terence Pitts, Tinisha Drake, Chameka Drake, Brandon Drake (Renica), Tiffany Drake, Glenisha Whigham, Courtney Cupidore, Alexander Drake, Jeremiah Sancho, BriAnna & Bryanah Johnson, and a host of great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Nieces: Barbara Drake and Marion Williams-James (Vess). Devoted friends Patricia Sykes and Bryan Johnson. nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and beloved friends.
