Donald Hartfield

Donald Hartfield passed away peacefully on the 4th of July, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on October 31, 1954, in Jacksonville, Florida, he was preceded in death by his devoted parents Bozie and Dollie Mae Hartfield and his brother, Bozie Hartfield Jr. Donald lived a life full of allegiance, simplicity, and jubilance. A proud graduate of William M. Raines High School, class of 1973, Donald went on to attend Bethune Cookman University on a football scholarship, his prowess on the field matched only by his dedication to his family and friends. His excitement for sports shone through in every game he played. His dedication to excellence was so impressive that he caught the eye of the Kansas City Chiefs football team before unfortunately facing career-ending knee injuries.

He was a man who lived life with gusto and passion, and his laugh was contagious to those fortunate enough to know him. Donald's greatest achievement was undoubtedly the impact he had on the lives of those close to him. His devotion, sincerity, and generosity of spirit left an indelible mark on everyone he met.

His love for his family was unconditional and boundless, their happiness was his greatest joy. He leaves to celebrate his memory, his devoted life partner: Patricia Douglas; siblings: Janice Hartfield Marshall (Andrew, a deeply cherished brother-in-love), Willie James Hartfield, Kevin Hartfield (Marsha), and Elston Hartfield; a cherished sister-in-love: Sarah Hartfield; nieces: Kasadriaine Holloway, Audra Marshall and Shannon Hartfield; nephews: Andre Marshall, Frank Hargrove, Antonio Marshall, Andrew Marshall III, Johnathan Hartfield, and William Hartfield; great nieces: Antonia Marshall, Aniya Marshall, and Alizabeth Marshall; great nephews: Anthony Kendall, Antonio Marshall Jr., Andre Marshall Jr., Amare Marshall, Anderson Marshall, and Areon Marshall; and he will be deeply missed by a host of other family and friends.
