Dennis Luster, born May 27, 1953, transitioned from this life on September 28, 2025. He was a devoted father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Dennis proudly served his country as an Army veteran, carrying the discipline, strength, and resilience of his service into every part of his life. He was widely known as the baldest automobile painter in his prime, a smooth talker, and a man whose charisma lit up any room. Beyond his many talents, he was a great cook who poured love into every meal. Sunday dinners and his famous
7UP cakes & biscuits will forever remain part of his family's cherished memories.
Dennis extended his love and values beyond his own children, welcoming their siblings into his care and raising them with the same code and expectations. His home was always open to anyone in need of food, shelter, or a place of safety, and many found comfort and love under his roof.
In his later years, Dennis found his niche again in fishing, enjoying the peace and fulfillment it brought him.
Dennis believed deeply in family unity and created countless moments that will be remembered with love and laughter.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Chisa Monique. He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Zalanda Lashaw Washington, Summer "Meme" Law, Lakecia Holmes Barrett (Chester), Darnell Akeem Bennett, Mario Bennett (whom he raised), and Denasia Luster. He was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; his brothers: Earl and Carl; his sisters: Barbara and Bridget; a host of nieces and nephews, with Tootie (Altovise) always holding the title of his favorite, bringing a smile to everyone's face; with many other loved ones and friends.
Our father lived a full life rich with love, laughter, good food, and unforgettable stories. He will be remembered not only for his talents and charm but most of all for his dedication to family.
Forever loved, forever missed, forever in our hearts.
