Mrs. Carrie Lightbourne was born on October 13, 1936 in Marlboro County, South Carolina to Hallie Rothwell and Charlie Rothwell. She is survived by husband, Leroy Lightbourne; children, Marva Chisholm, Gregory Rothwell, Vicent Rothwell, Leroy Lighbourne, Jr. and stepdaughter, Patricia Hall. She was an active member of Westside Church of Christ and attended services on most Sundays. On October 29,1985, Carrie Lightbourne was baptized and committed her life to serving God. She was self employed for 30 years as a certified nurse assistant and enjoyed taking care of patients who were sick, disabled or unable to take care of themselves. Sometimes, this required extremely long hours and overnight stays. Carrie never complained and committed her life to taking care of people less fortunate than herself. Carrie Lightbourne was well known in her community for her work with the Springfield Historic Community Council Sponsor Program. She volunteered as a Block Captain in an effort to get our youths and homeowners to maintain the integrity and appearance of the Springfield Community Area. Other family members in grievance, sisters, May Isreal and Hallie Morris; brother, James Rothwell; sisters-in-law, Gloria Johnson, Roseann Spigner, Glenda Simmons and Patricia Simmons; grandchildren, Meesha, Shaun and Greg, Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends.
