In Loving Memory of Barbara Yvonne Robinson Seymour

Barbara Yvonne Robinson Seymour, fondly known as "Tiny," graced the world with her presence on January 17, 1949, in Savannah, Georgia. A cherished daughter of Lee Ray and Rose Lillian Robinson, she was the light of their lives and a delightful story-teller, always ready to share her heartwarming tales from an early age.

Tiny's journey began in Miami, Florida, where her family lived before they moved to Jacksonville. She attended Northwestern Jr. High and proudly graduated from William M. Raines Senior High School in 1967. It was during these formative years that she fell in love with Gerald Ernest Seymour, sharing a deep bond that led them to create a beautiful life together. Their daughter, Rose Eryka, was a testament to their love, and Barbara embraced motherhood with grace and dedication.

Barbara's career began at Southern Bell, but her true calling revealed itself as she delved into the world of education. With a passion for helping others, she inspired everyone she met with her kindness and understanding. Barbara had an exceptional ability to connect with people, making friends wherever she went. Her warm spirit and encouraging words uplifted those around her.

Throughout the changes in her life, Barbara exemplified resilience. She balanced work, education, and family commitments, always putting others first. When her parents needed her care, she stepped up with unwavering strength, embodying the essence of love and commitment.

In 2019, Barbara proudly earned her Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, a remarkable achievement celebrated even during the challenging times of the COVID pandemic. Her faith was a source of comfort, guiding her through life's trials with grace and mercy.

On June 9, 2025, Barbara embarked on her heavenly journey at Riverside Post Acute in Jacksonville. A champion in this life, she has now found eternal rest, surrounded by love.

Barbara is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her devoted daughter, Rose “Precious” (David) of St. Augustine, Florida; her grandchildren, Farrah (La'Mesha), Gerald Todd, and Journie Rose Jeffcoat; and great-grandchildren Geonie, Gerald Todd Seymour II, Kai Wright, and Kaiori Cohen. She is survived by her loving sisters, Doris J. Robinson, Deborah E. Jenkins (Bruce), and Cheryl Y. Chester (Andrew), all of Jacksonville, Florida, and a multitude of cousins, family, and friends whose lives she touched.

As we celebrate the beautiful life of Barbara Yvonne Robinson Seymour, we remember the love she shared, the friendships she nurtured, and the unwavering spirit she embodied. Her legacy will forever inspire us to live with love, compassion, and strength.
