Anthony Earl Jones

JONES - Mr. Anthony Earl, 56, a native of Jacksonville, passed away suddenly on September 25, 2012. He was a member of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, sang in the male chorus and a former Trustee. 1974 graduate of Stanton Sr. High School and attend Edward Water College. As a teenager and young adult he worked at the Florida and Center Theatres. He later worked for the Florida Theatre Office Building as a custodian and elevator operator where he was featured in the Florida Times Union as the last elevator operator in Florida. For the past 13 years he has been driver and custodian of the Ritz Theatre and Museum. He was known in the community for his cakes, however it will be his generosity, loyalty, gentleness and patience that will be remembered most. His mother Sarah Hilton Jones and older brother Herbert Hilton preceded him in death. He leaves to celebrate his life: Father-Theodore J. Jones, Jr. Siblings: Ruby Dee Jones (Theodore) Hope, Roslyn Jones (Charles) Robinson, Maurena (Deron) Dukes, David and Larry Triplett, Godsons: Todd Jackson, Jr., Chris Jackson, Jamari and Ty'rell Jackson; Aunts- Freddie Mae Jones, Rose Marie Jones Johnson (Earnest); Uncle- Malachi Brown Jones (Sharon) a host of many special family members and friends.
