Alicia Matthews Obituary Alicia Larissa Matthews was born on October 29, 1970, in Jacksonville, Florida to parents Elizabeth Matthews and William Toombs. Alicia Larissa attended the Duval public schools. As an adult she was employed at the Henrys Hickory House plant for ten plus years. Her next occupational position was with Gate Gas station where she was gainfully employed for five years until health issues forced her to retire. Alicias family and friends fondly called her by her middle name Larissa. When others pronounced her first name incorrectly, she would promptly correct them because she wanted them to be aware of the uniqueness of its pronunciation. Alicia Larissa dearly loved and enjoyed caring for her nieces and nephews as though they were her very own. Alicia Larissa was preceded in death by her mother, father, and niece Brittany Matthews. Alicia Larissa leaves to cherish fond memories, brothers Dr. Earl Matthews (Gail), Bruce Matthews, and Xavier Matthews (Maria), her only sister Alfreda Matthews; Uncle Herman McGoogin, Aunt Ruby Coleman, an abundance of nieces/nephews, grandnieces/nephews, close cousins, Godmother Carolyn Byrd; lifelong friend Gabriel Cruise and many sorrowing friends.
