Phyllis Ann Coleman, better known as “Ann”, daughter of the late Bernard Coleman and Leah Coleman, was born on August 31, 1947 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Phyllis received a local education at Stanton High School and dedicated her life to be a homemaker for her family. In her 50s, she decided to extend her education by attending college courses at FSCJ. Phyllis may have held many job positions in the span of her life but she excelled at being a mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Phyllis truly loved her family and they loved her. She was known for opening her arms and home to any child or person in need. She may have birthed four children but she has raised a village. “Momma Ann” did not need the wealth of money to change the life of many people; she had her heart. She was unfiltered but loved because she told the truth and filled our lives with great wisdom.
Phyllis leaves to cherish her memories 1 sibling, Claude Wright, and 4 children: Leah Lewis (Benny), Carla Breland, Carlile Breland Jr., and Cynthia Coleman. 15 grandchildren: Michelle Coleman, Murray Coleman, Willie Coleman, Benny Lewis (Nette), Bernard Coleman (Sophie), Ceddrina Woodard (Derrick), Car’Lisa Breland, Ronald Robinson, Carlile Breland III (Chessie), Chantel Breland, Caron Breland, Fantasia Sampson (Temitope), Jacobe Breland, Damian Breland, and Kayla Breland. In total, 46 great-grandchildren and counting. Nephews: Andre Wright and Claude Wright Jr. Niece: Claudia Wright.
