Beatrice Herring was born on March 12, 1923 in Vidalia, GA to the late William T. And Delia Gaffney Howard. She departed this life peacefully on the afternoon of October 9, 2019.
Beatrice attended J. D. Dickerson High School in Toombs County Georgia. Early in life she wed Charlie Herring; from this union she was blessed with two daughters whom she adored.
Beatrice enjoyed reading, birds, cooking (known for her famous holiday nut cake), flowers, gardening, fishing and watching Major League Baseball. But she enjoyed most spending time with family and telling them stories.
Beatrice work several jobs retiring from Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida after 25 years of service. After retiring, she volunteered with the Foster Grandparent Program in Jacksonville.
Beatrice was preceded by her parents, daughters, Annette Johnson and Cleatha Bailey; two sisters; two brothers, and a grandson, Ricky Johnson.
She is survived by her sister, Angeline Harris; brother, Bobby Howard; granddaughters, Faye Follow and Tammie Yarbrough(Ernest); grandsons, Roderick Johnson and Derek Bailey; great grands, Kevin Follow(Mary), Rodshawn Dorsey, Kristopher Stafford; great-great grands, Kevon Follow and Kingston King; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
