Welcome to the memorial page for

Joseph Tarver Jr.

June 19, 1950 ~ December 31, 2016 (age 66) 66 Years Old

Mr. Joseph Tarver, Jr. was born on June 19, 1950 to Claretha and Joseph Tarver Sr.  He attended local schools in Jacksonville, Florida.  He was raised, nurtured and guided in love by his grandmother, the late Eliza Eagle who took him under her wings as her son.  She became his mom.   She taught him everything that he has ever known in life.  The wisdom and knowledge that God granted his grandmother to care for him made a huge difference in his life.
As a child and several years of his adult life while residing in Jacksonville, Florida, Joseph grew up in Queen Esther Church of God in Christ.  The Mighty acts and the Everlasting power that he knew of God, were taught to him by his grandmother first.  And as he learned God for himself, he kept the Word of God with him wherever he went.  His grandmother was a very pivotal part in his life.  And her many prayers that are stored up in heaven were bestowed upon him throughout his life.
Joseph Tarver Jr. was well known as a very kind and generous man, who walked in humility. Joseph had a huge heart for people, and it did not matter if he just met you or not, he always wanted to help.  Joseph was a humble man and made friends wherever he would travel. He was a great listener and would lend a helping hand to a stranger.
Joseph Tarver, Jr. loved all his grandchildren but he had a very special relationship with Demaria, who knew him as her daddy.  He taught her a lot and loved her unconditionally.  She will forever have her “Daddy Joe” in her heart.
Although he resided in Miami, Florida, he dubbed himself as “Jacksonville Joe.”  He will always be affectionately known to his grandchildren as “Daddy Joe”.  He always had a strong desire to find the good in everyone.  He often would say “Nobody is Perfect” and “God can change anybody.”
He was the Greatest Dad any of his children could ever hope for, the best loved one, closest friend and family member who lived his life to the fullest.  He Loved Life and Family! Together with Vivian Tarver they had three children:  Jondrea Tarver- Bull (Phillip), Joseph Tarver, III (Monique) and Joy Tarver;  six grandchildren, Brandi , Brittini (his Ballerina), Demaria, 1st grandson, Malachi Joseph Tarver, Javarius and Zayden (“Dang-Dang”).  He is also survived by his siblings in Miami, Florida, Annise, Ann, Ricky and Calvin and in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Judy, Patricia, Cynthia and Bay; a very special “Grandma Annie” and his best friends, Mick and Priscilla (Miami, Florida) and a host of other relatives and friends.
Joseph was preceded in death by a very close and special brother whom he loved with ALL HIS HEART, Bernard Tarver.  Lastly, we would like to leave with you the last scripture that was quoted from the heart and soul of our Dad.  Romans 10:9 – that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him (JESUS) from the dead, you will be saved.
